Wooler

Wooler, an attractive stone-built Market Town in Northumberland, perched high above the Wooler Water in the foothills of the Cheviots is a natural gateway to Glendale and Northumberland National Park. The clean air and natural beauty of the area has built the reputation of Wooler & Glendale as a place to relax and recuperate. Early visitors included Daniel Defoe, Sir Walter Scott and local heroine Grace Darling. The magnificent backdrop of Humbleton Hill is mentioned in the opening scenes of one of the country's greatest literary works – Shakespeare’s Henry IV.   The bustling main street serves the rural area of Glendale and hosts specialist shops and cafes.
